Sleep and recovery are enhanced which builds resilience to stress.
This natural therapy combines Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Hypnotherapy to:
Reduce anxiety and promote relaxation
Improve sleep quality
Boost overall well-being
Why Stress and Anxiety Can Feel So Persistent
Do you wonder “Why am I always anxious?”
Stress and anxiety are brain-based responses
Prolonged stress keeps the body in survival mode
Anxiety is not a sign of weakness
The brain can learn calmer responses
Who Solution Focused Hypnotherapy Can Help
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can help clients with generalised anxiety, work-related stress, burnout or emotional exhaustion, high-functioning anxiety, overthinking and rumination and stress-related sleep problems.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a great alternative to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for anxiety and stress.
There is less focus on discussing problems and no requirement to analyse the past. Focus is on calming the stress response and sessions are structured and time-limited.
What Happens in a Solution Focused Hypnotherapy Session?
Over our sessions, we’ll work together to help you:
Understand the role of Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep in processing our emotions
Learn tools to reduce your stress bucket
Develop a more positive, solution-focused mindset
Reinforce calm and relaxation through sleep hypnosis
Each session is structured as follows:
A discussion of “what’s been good?” to focus your brain on the positives and put you into your intellectual brain. These do not need to be big things - perhaps the sun is shining, the traffic was light on your journey or someone complimented you at work…
Brain revision to remind you of the neuroscience behind our work and the importance of having getting stress levels down, doing things that you enjoy, interacting with people who make you feel good and having positive thoughts
A simple scaling exercise to determine how you are feeling this week and what would move you slightly up the happiness scale
A visualisation exercise to expand on what your preferred future would look like, how you will feel when you get there and what small step you can take to move in that direction
A guided sleep relaxation to cement your preferred future into your subconscious
Many clients notice a real difference after just a few sessions.

How Emma Overcame Her Anxiety Using Solution Focused Hypnotherapy
(Details changed for confidentiality reasons)
Emma was a stay at home mum with 2 small children. Emma had experienced anxiety since a child however it had recently manifested itself into a fear of socialising and being in busy places.
When Emma was invited to social events she would make excuses as to why she could not attend and this left her withdrawn and lonely. Her anxious thoughts would consume her:“ What if people find you boring?…….What are you going to talk about?…..What if there are people you don’t know? …..What if you can’t get parked and arrive late?…..What if it’s not easy to leave?”
Over the course of 8 sessions Emma learnt to control her anxiety using Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. She achieved this by:
Increasing her cognitive control by strengthening her pre-frontal cortex
Reframing her negative thoughts
Emptying her stress bucket
Focusing more on her strengths and the positive aspects of her life
Visualising a future where she could socialise easily and have fun with friends
Client Testimonials
“Laura has really helped me become calmer and more relaxed. She has provided me with the tools to change my mindset and become better at dealing with life’s stresses. I would highly recommend.” — RG, Female, 29
“I cannot recommend Brighter Future Therapy Practice enough, my anxiety levels were through the roof before starting my sessions and now they’re at zero. As someone who isn’t big on talking about myself/my problems with strangers I was very apprehensive going into my first session however once in the room with Laura I just felt so at ease & comfortable talking with her. My sessions with Laura have taught me how to not let my anxiety get the better of me, to look for positives instead of focusing on negatives. I leave each session feeling lighter and more at ease within myself. After a good few years of me saying oh no therapy isn’t for me I now would recommend therapy to anyone who is struggling and I would 100% recommend Laura as she has helped me immensely.” — CB, Female, 47

Frequently Asked Questions About Hypnotherapy for Stress and Anxiety
What is solution focused hypnotherapy for stress and anxiety?
Solution focused hypnotherapy is a practical, forward-focused approach that helps calm the nervous system and reduce ongoing stress and anxiety.
It combines solution focused brief therapy techniques, neuroscience-based psychoeducation, and hypnosis to help the brain move out of constant “fight or flight” mode. The focus is on creating calm and resilience in the present, rather than analysing past experiences.
How can hypnotherapy help with stress and anxiety?
Stress and anxiety are often driven by an overactive stress response in the brain.
Solution focused hypnotherapy helps by:
Calming the nervous system
Reducing overthinking and mental overload
Improving emotional regulation
Supporting better sleep and recovery
Increasing resilience to everyday stress
This allows anxiety to reduce naturally, rather than being managed through constant effort or avoidance.
Is hypnotherapy safe for stress and anxiety?
Yes. Solution focused hypnotherapy is considered safe and non-invasive when delivered by a trained and insured practitioner.
It does not involve medication or physical intervention, and clients remain fully aware and in control at all times. Sessions are delivered in line with UK professional, ethical, and confidentiality standards.
Will I lose control or be unconscious during hypnosis?
No. Hypnosis is not sleep, and you will not lose control.
You remain awake, aware, and able to speak throughout the session. Hypnosis is simply a state of focused attention and relaxation, similar to daydreaming or becoming absorbed in a task. You can stop the session at any time.
