Hypnotherapy for Menopause
Ease Hot Flushes and Night Sweats, Calm Your Nervous System, and Support Your Natural Transition
Learn to regulate your nervous system, reduce hot flushes and anxiety, and support your wellbeing through evidence-based, solution focused hypnotherapy designed for the menopausal transition.
How Hypnotherapy Helps With Menopause
Solution focused hypnotherapy does not claim to replace medical care or hormone treatment and does not address the underlying physiological changes of menopause. However, it can be a valuable supportive therapy alongside medical advice to manage symptoms and support wellbeing.
Hypnotherapy can help to:
Calm an overactive nervous system that can trigger hot flushes, night sweats, and temperature dysregulation
Reduce anxiety, mood disturbance, and irritability that often accompany hormonal changes
Support better sleep and rest, which are often disrupted by night sweats and hormonal fluctuations
Ease tension, brain fog, and fatigue that can arise during the menopausal transition
Improve stress resilience and emotional regulation during a time of significant bodily change
Rebuild a sense of calm, confidence, and wellbeing at a manageable pace
Support positive adaptation and self-care during this important life transition
Many clients notice improvements in hot flush frequency and intensity, better sleep, improved mood, and greater ease during menopause, even as symptoms evolve and stabilise gradually over time.
Why Choose Solution Focused Hypnotherapy for Menopause?
Solution focused hypnotherapy is a forward-focused therapeutic approach that supports wellbeing through menopause and combines:
Solution focused brief therapy techniques
Neuroscience-based psychoeducation
Clinical hypnosis
Rather than focusing on distressing symptoms or what you’re losing, this approach helps calm the mind and nervous system, reduce the anxiety and hyperarousal that amplify menopausal symptoms, and strengthen your ability to move through this transition with resilience.
Sessions are structured, practical, and carefully adapted to support nervous system regulation, manage symptoms and mood at a sustainable level, and move forward through menopause at a pace that feels supportive and empowering.
Who Solution Focused Hypnotherapy Can Help
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can support people experiencing menopausal symptoms by helping to calm an overactive nervous system, reduce hot flushes and night sweats, and ease the anxiety and mood changes that can accompany hormonal transition.
Rather than dwelling on the challenges of menopause or focusing on distressing symptoms, this approach helps the mind and body settle in the present, creating the conditions needed for nervous system regulation, reduced symptom intensity, and greater wellbeing.
Sessions are practical, structured, and time-limited, with an emphasis on gently calming the nervous system, managing symptoms with compassion, and supporting you through menopause with confidence and resilience. Many clients find this a supportive, forward-focused alternative to traditional talking therapies, helping them navigate this transition as a positive change rather than a crisis.
How It Works
Over our sessions, we’ll work together to help you:
Understand how the nervous system, hormonal changes, and stress interact to amplify menopausal symptoms like hot flushes, night sweats, and mood disturbance
Learn tools to calm the nervous system, regulate temperature and stress responses, and support your body through this natural transition
Develop a more supportive, solution-focused approach to menopause that honours your body and supports wellbeing
Reinforce feelings of calm, confidence, and ease through guided relaxation and hypnosis
Each session is structured as follows:
A discussion of “what’s been good?” to help your brain notice improved sleep, reduced hot flushes, moments of calm or stability, however small, and move into a more regulated state. These do not need to be symptom-free days — perhaps you had fewer flushes, slept more deeply, or felt less anxious.
Brain revision to remind you of the neuroscience behind menopausal symptoms, including how hormonal changes affect the nervous system, how stress amplifies symptoms, and how calming the mind supports symptom management and wellbeing.
A simple scaling exercise to explore how you are managing menopausal symptoms this week and what might help you feel slightly more comfortable or in control.
A visualisation exercise to explore what ease and confidence through menopause might feel like, how your body might feel more settled, and what small step you can take to support your wellbeing naturally.
A guided relaxation to support nervous system regulation and gently reinforce calm, stability, and comfort at a subconscious level.
Many clients notice a real difference after just a few sessions.

CASE STUDY: ““I Didn’t Recognise Myself Anymore””
Details changed for confidentiality reasons)
Susie came to see me feeling completely overwhelmed and at the end of her tether.
She was a capable, intelligent woman — a business owner, a mother and a partner — who had always described herself as positive, trusting and emotionally secure. But over the previous few years, she felt as though she had slowly lost herself.
Susie began experiencing intense insecurity and jealousy in her relationship. When her partner went out, her thoughts would spiral and her body would react with anxiety and panic. Although she knew her reactions felt irrational, she couldn’t seem to control them. These emotions would eventually surface as anger and conflict, leading to frequent arguments.
At home, Susie found herself constantly exhausted and easily overstimulated. She became snappy and impatient with her children. Her 19-year-old daughter even threatened to move out, telling her she no longer recognised her mum.
Work, which had once felt manageable, now felt overwhelming. Susie experienced brain fog, difficulty concentrating and scattered thinking. She missed deadlines, doubted her decisions and felt deeply embarrassed that she couldn’t function as she once had.
Her biggest fear was this:
“What if this is just who I am now?”
Through Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, we didn’t dwell on analysing everything that had gone wrong in Susie’s life.
Instead, we focused on reducing stress and supporting her nervous system.
When stress levels are high, the brain remains stuck in survival mode, which intensifies menopause symptoms such as hot flushes, sleep disruption, emotional reactivity and fatigue.
Using deep relaxation and solution focused techniques, Susie’s nervous system began to settle. As her stress levels reduced:
Her sleep quality improved
Her emotional reactions became more manageable
Her focus and concentration increased
She felt calmer and more in control at work and at home
Most importantly, Susie told me:
“I feel like myself again.”
Not a different person — just a steadier, calmer version of who she already was.

Client Testimonials
“I came to Laura as feeling a loss of confidence and self doubt. Combined with guilt over things from the past. It was effecting my sleep and I was distracted during the day. After an initial consultation where Laura explained hypnotherapy and how she worked, I booked in and had 3 sessions. Really glad I did. Laura works in a relaxed environment and I found the whole process calming and relaxing. To the point I could easily have nodded off. I left the sessions feeling much lighter and have continued with the visualization exercises. Definitely recommend.” — LT, Female, 43
“I cannot recommend Brighter Future Therapy Practice enough, my anxiety levels were through the roof before starting my sessions and now they’re at zero. As someone who isn’t big on talking about myself/my problems with strangers I was very apprehensive going into my first session however once in the room with Laura I just felt so at ease & comfortable talking with her. My sessions with Laura have taught me how to not let my anxiety get the better of me, to look for positives instead of focusing on negatives. I leave each session feeling lighter and more at ease within myself. After a good few years of me saying oh no therapy isn’t for me I now would recommend therapy to anyone who is struggling and I would 100% recommend Laura as she has helped me immensely.” — CB, Female, 47

Frequently Asked Questions About Hypnotherapy for Menopause
Can hypnotherapy help with menopausal symptoms?
Yes. Solution focused hypnotherapy can be very effective in supporting people through menopause by helping to calm the nervous system, reduce hot flushes and night sweats, and ease the anxiety and mood changes that often accompany hormonal transition.
It works by addressing the way the brain and nervous system respond to hormonal changes, helping to reduce hyperarousal, temperature dysregulation, and emotional overwhelm. Hypnotherapy supports the mind and body in finding greater calm, improving sleep, and making it easier to navigate menopause with confidence and resilience.
Will hypnotherapy eliminate all my menopausal symptoms?
Hypnotherapy is not designed to eliminate menopause or stop the natural hormonal transition your body is going through. Menopause is a normal life stage, not a condition to be cured.
Instead, it focuses on calming the nervous system, reducing the intensity and frequency of symptoms like hot flushes, night sweats, and mood changes, and supporting your ability to navigate this transition with greater ease. Many clients notice positive changes after just a few sessions, but lasting improvement comes from consistent practice and allowing your mind and body to adjust naturally.
Is solution focused hypnotherapy safe alongside HRT or other treatments?
Yes. Solution focused hypnotherapy is safe and non-invasive and can be used alongside HRT, other treatments, counselling, or medical support for menopause.
It does not replace medical advice, medication, or therapy when needed. Instead, it complements other approaches, focusing on calming the nervous system and supporting the mental and emotional factors that can amplify menopausal symptoms.
Is solution focused hypnotherapy suitable for all menopausal symptoms?
Solution focused hypnotherapy can support people experiencing a wide range of menopausal symptoms and challenges, including:
Hot flushes, night sweats, and temperature dysregulation
Sleep disturbance, insomnia, and fatigue
Anxiety, mood swings, and emotional overwhelm
Brain fog, difficulty concentrating, and low confidence
Feelings of loss, frustration, or disconnection from yourself
Each session is tailored to the individual’s needs and circumstances, ensuring the approach is supportive, compassionate, and relevant to your experience of menopause.
