Why Choose Solution Focused Sleep Hypnotherapy?
Unlike traditional talk therapy, solution focused sleep hypnotherapy focuses on what’s working and helps you move forward quickly. Sessions are structured, evidence-based, and designed to create measurable change — often within a few weeks.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can help you quiet your mind, reduce overwhelm, and regain energy by addressing the root causes of stress in a positive way.
Why do I feel so tired all the time, even when I get enough sleep?
This might be a sign of mental exhaustion rather than physical fatigue.
We go in and out of many sleep cycles and one of the cycles that is most important for our mental health is Rapid Eye Movement (REM sleep). During REM sleep we dream and process events of the day either exactly as the events happened or metaphorically.
Think of a time when someone has upset or annoyed you, and your partner or friend tells you to forget about it but you just can’t. You go to sleep and during the night REM sleep strips the emotion out of your memories and stores them as narrative memories that you can control.
When you wake up you still remember the event but don’t feel as upset or angry. You just think “why did I let that get to me?”
REM sleep is a great process however the problem is that it is very energy intensive and only accounts for 20% of our sleep patterns.
If you are stressed or have a lot of events to process then your REM sleep will quickly become exhausted.
This is what happens when we wake up in the early hours and feel wide awake, unhappy and can struggle to get back to sleep. Even if we can get back to sleep it will not be restful and we still feel tired the next day.
What to expect
Over our sessions, we’ll work together to help you:
Understand the role of Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep in processing our emotions
Learn tools to reduce your stress bucket
Develop a more positive, solution-focused mindset
Reinforce calm and relaxation through sleep hypnosis
Each session is structured as follows:
A discussion of “what’s been good?” to focus your brain on the positives and put you into your intellectual brain. These do not need to be big things - perhaps the sun is shining, the traffic was light on your journey or someone complimented you at work…
Brain revision to remind you of the neuroscience behind our work and the importance of having getting stress levels down, doing things that you enjoy, interacting with people who make you feel good and having positive thoughts
A simple scaling exercise to determine how you are feeling this week and what would move you slightly up the happiness scale
A visualisation exercise to expand on what your preferred future would look like, how you will feel when you get there and what small step you can take to move in that direction
A guided sleep relaxation to cement your preferred future into your subconscious
Many clients notice a real difference after just a few sessions.
How Stacey Improved Her Sleep By Letting Go Of Feelings Of Guilt
(Details changed for confidentiality reasons)
Stacey was in a happy and stable relationship and yet she constantly battled insomnia. It would take ages for her to get to sleep and then she would wake up frequently throughout the night. In the mornings she felt sluggish and was distracted during the day.
The insomnia had started around a year after her first marriage had failed. Stacey confessed that she experienced feelings of guilt and regret over how the marriage had ended. She felt she could have behaved differently and parted ways in a more positive manner.
Over the course of 6 sessions Stacey began to sleep better and let go of her feelings of guilt. She achieved this by:
Learning to accept the past and what she could not change
Reframing her negative thoughts by focusing on the positive aspects of her personality
Emptying her stress bucket
Relaxing during trance
Visualising a future without guilt
